There is nothing better than reading a good book about good books. I love reading about a person who loves reading as much I do. So I wanted to create a list of some of those books.
I’ve picked 5 books (that I really enjoyed reading) across many different genres. Some are obvious, HELLO Book Lovers is the title, and #5 surprised me. I never thought it would make this list.

Book #1 – The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams
This debut book is a must read – also made my top books of 2021! Aleisha is a teenager working at the local library when she discovers a list of books and decides to read the entire the list. The book is split into sections on each book on this list.
This book shows how books can unite people. I know I have a mental list of books I’d recommend to anyone no matter what their interests are because at their core anyone can relate and empathize with the characters.
Book #2 – The Messy Lives of Book People by Phaedra Patrick
I enjoyed this book because it reminded me of growing up and needing to get every Sophie Kinsella book possible (or Madeleine Wickham, her other pen name). I related to the main character when she followed all the books of a certain author. I really enjoyed the Shopaholic series growing up, but her other titles like Twenties Girl were my absolute favourite. Full disclosure – I’ve struggled through her books in recent years. I might have grown out of them?
This book has the best quotes about books too! I’m a serial highlighter of all favourite lines and one that stuck with me is below.

Book #3 – Book Lovers by Emily Henry
This might be the most obvious one of the list. I love reading about independent book stores. This one also had everything I LOVE in a vacation read. The list includes small town, book lovers, and witty banter. I also think Emily Henry’s Beach Read is just as good as a book (maybe even better?). I think she has become an auto-buy author for me.
Book #4 – Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes
If you haven’t read this book yet. STOP READING this blog post and order/borrow/find one
at your local library. This is one of my favourite books of all time. It is based on the WPA’s Packhorse Librarians of Kentucky program that ran from 1935-1943. It brought books to hundreds of thousands rural inhabitants in one of the poorest areas in the United States.
In 1930, almost 31% of the population in Kentucky couldn’t read and librarians rode to the houses with books in their side satchels. Check out more information the real story here.
Tip #5 – The Children on the Hill by Jennifer McMahon
Last, but certainly not least, this thriller doesn’t seem like a book about a book lover and it surprised me in the best possible way. I recently posted that this was a 5 star book that I didn’t want to give too much away. Check it out for yourself and make sure to message me when you are done.
